Dave and Matt of Prior Builders built our home two years ago. Dave helped from the inception giving us ideas on layout and functionality as well as putting us in contact with an artistically minded (and practical) draftsman called Mark Draper. What we came up with was a modern sustainable design, probably not the simplest of builds. Dave and Matt were invaluable with their knowledge of materials to help make decisions on cladding and structural elements. Dave and Matt's team of tradespeople are trustworthy and provide such high quality workmanship that the building process for us was very enjoyable. There were only minimal delays because all the subcontractors worked really well together. I asked why they all worked so well and was told that most have been working together with Dave and Matt for over 20 years! The quality of the build is very high and it is something other people immediately notice. Two years on it actually looks even better. The cost was quite reasonable for the high spec materials and design. In comparison with other quotes I would say that they are middle of the road with price and top notch with their quality of workmanship. We are very happy customers and would highly recommend Dave, Matt and their team for those wishing to build a great quality home.

On two different friends’ recommendations, we appointed David Prior to be our builder for extensions on our Adelaide Hills house situated on our farm of 150 acres. Our farm is our absolute lifestyle choice of the past 30 years and where we escape from the pressures of Adelaide. The farm house was well overdue for a facelift and we were ripe for suggestions on how best to go about it. David’s challenge was to open up a kitchen, bedroom and small lounge into an open kitchen- lounge – dining room area and extending the house with a master bedroom, ensuite bathroom and dressing room, library, storeroom and laundry. We are thrilled with the result.
We found this building company met our needs and more in summary due to:

We chose to build using “cost plus”. Our accounts were carefully prepared showing details of work completed and copies of all relevant receipts attached. Through the process, a relationship of trust and respect developed and we have no hesitation in recommending these builders to our friends and family. If we were to have further building projects, we would happily engage DJ and PJ Prior ourselves.

We have just completed construction of a 2 story stone and brick double garage and craft room. After 2 recommendations from friends, we engaged Prior Builders for the project. I retired from the building industry myself about 20 years ago. 10 years ago I asked around Woodside where I lived concerning a reliable builder to employ for some alterations to my house and was referred to Dave Prior.
